Fliss, a successful otter mother When Chipz first arrived at Hunstanton, he had behavioural problems, showing a lot of repetitive behaviour, and with a reputation for extreme aggression toward other otters.  Then Fliss arrived form London Zoo, and since then, they haven't looked back!  They have just had their second litter of cubs, and Chipz is too busy to have time to be bored!

This Seal Sanctuary has a large otter pen, with many different substrates. The holt is on exhibit, but is boarded off when there are cubs. It is in a busy part of the site, which was fortunate the day that Lucky the otter cub fell in the water  during a rambunctious play session with his brothers and sisters  - a keeper saw him and scooped him out, and he was rolled in towels and dried with a hairdryer. Within a few days, he was back playing with his siblings again.

Chipz, drinking from the pond Hunstanton Seal Sanctuary is owned by the same parent organisation as the Sea Life centres.

The site is flat and very compact; all paths are tarmacked. There is a chips, burgers and beans type cafe, and a large gift shop. The centre is on the southern Promenade, on the seafront at Hunstanton. The nearest car park is behind the centre, between Seagate and Southend Roads.

I last visited the Centre in September 2002.
