Cuteness at the zoo!
Their heads perked attentively, they look at the camera politely. This is the new generation of otters at the Zoo by the Sea (Zoo am Meer). And they are far from ordinary.
Zoo boss Dr. Heike Kück: "Usually there are up to four babies in a litter. But here are six on the go! That is already a small sensation.
"The animals are 20 centimeters long, still crawling on their bellies or carried about the enclosure in the mouths of the parent aninals, Ares and Hera.
When full-grown, they can be up to 50 centimeters long (excuding the tail). Favourite meal: Fish and fruit. Otters are considered very curious, playful and very fast.
