(Courtesy Alaska SeaLife Center)ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- At the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, the good news Thursday is that an orphaned sea otter has a new home -- but the bad news is that the center has to part with one of its favorite otters, Tazo.

The center announced Thursday that the New York Aquarium has decided to adopt the orphaned otter.

Another sea otter, Kaladi, left about two weeks ago for the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, Wash. Tazo will be heading to his new home in New York in the first week of August.

According to the SeaLife Center, both sea otters are progressing well and should continue to do well in their new homes. Officials say both facilities have very good reputations, and that it's not such a sad sendoff
