Missing Otter Still On The Loose

The search for Kitchi, the missing river otter has been scaled back. But, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo officials are not giving up hope.

There had been a report that the otter was spotted Tuesday morning near 31st and Cimarron, but officials say there was no evidence that he was actually in that area.

Kitchi and three other otters escaped from an exhibit last Thursday through a tiny hole in the fence.

The mesh wiring has been fixed and the other three otters have been found. But, Kitchi is still on the loose.

Zoo officials say he is likely hanging out near a body of water since fish are his primary source of food out in the wild.
