Pequeño - Dead!

We have received very sad news from Chinchamen Crusade. Baby Pequeño is dead.

A cage had been constructed to allow the young otter to live a more natural life, to prepare him for release.

A few mornings ago, Ricardo Correa and a colleague went to the cage to give the otter his breakfast, and found that it had been torn open and Pequeño was gone. Blood and fur led them to believe a stray dog had killed him and a later search found his remains in dog faeces nearby.

This is a dreadful end for the little otter.
